Crab Door Hanger

Happy Tuesday!!

I wanted to share with you a door hanger I created at my son's request.  I try and create hangers for the kids' bedroom doors to keep the second floor festive and friendly.  =)  My son requested a door hanger with a crab on it.  So, here's what I came up with.

Since my son wanted a crab, I used the Under the Sea file set from Scraptastical Kreations.  (The shark and crab are in this set.)

I used the Peachy Keen Stamps challenge sketch as my beginning inspiration.  Thought I could use the crab as the focal point...and it just went from there.  The faces for the crab and shark from Peachy Keen Stamps Everday Character and Winter Face Assorments.  For the shark's eye, I used the 3/4" bird face from the Winter Face set, the left eye only.  Then I inked just the eyebrow so that I could angle it just right.   The crab's eyes are from the 1" bird face and the smile is from the 1 3/8" Everday Character set.

I used Scraptastical Kreations Element Me This file for the banner and the embossed shaped.  The hanger looked quite plain so I toor some strips of paper to create 'waves'.  I inked the edges in red and accented with waterfall Stickles.  The stars and fish eye are also waterfall stickles.  I used twine to help bring it together.

I created this card with the April PKS Stamp Club set. The jar, fireflies, jar cap, and sentiment are all from the set.

All that Stickles Icicle Linky Party

Happy Saturday!
Today starts a new linky party at All that Stickles.  Our theme this party is Icicle.

Create ANY crafty project with Icicle Stickles and link up at the party

I created a dew drop holder.

I upcycled a bullion jar for this project.

For the tag, I used a cut from the Robin's Nest Outdoors Tag kit.
The tag has a glossy side and a carboard side.  I chose to use the cardboard side.  It would take the ink better.

I used distress inks to color the non-glossy side and added dew drops from the kit to accent.
I just wrote Dew Drops with a copic multiliner.

I added Icicle Stickles to the tag and spray painted the blue lid gold to better coordinate with the tag and ribbon.

Happy Wednesday!

I wanted to share with you a card I made inspired by the Get Inky! Bling Challenge.

I used the Sew Sweet Cupcakes from Get Inky! Stamps for the cupcake and the Happy Birthday sentiment.

I stamped the cupake twice, once on white cardstock, and once on patterned paper.  I cut the 'wrapper' out of the patterned paper to use as an overlay.

I colored the top of the cupcake with a light colored copic.  Then I stickled the paper and outer edge of the top of the cupcake.  The sentiment banner was created by stamping the sentiment with Memeno ink.  I cut the edges with a pair of shaped scissors.  Then I inked the edge with fluid chalk and finished it off with matching Stickles.

Get Inky!'s challenge is live until the 27th.   The winner could receive this stamp set....

So be sure to head over and link up your creation.

Welcome to Day 1 of the Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue Blog Hop!

Wedding bells will soon be ringing as the wedding season is almost here, and the design teams of Red Carpet Studio and The Paper Nest Dolls have teamed up to provide you with some beautiful wedding inspiration by creating projects using Paper Nest Dolls digital stamps! If you've just come across the hop and would like to start at the beginning, please visit Red Carpet Studio.

Red Carpet Studio is a movie-themed challenge blog that runs weekly challenges, alternating between layout and card challenges each week. All of their challenges are inspired by either a movie or aspect of Hollywood!
The Paper Nest Dolls is a brand new digital/rubber stamp shop that sells adorable stamps inspired by the designer's children. Their stamps are sold here and they just started a challenge blog as well!

For my project today, I made....

I try not to make cards for hops, but I just love how this one turned out.  I used Paper Nest Dolls Bride Ellie image.  I really enjoyed coloring her.  Between her long hair and the folds in the dress, I could get really creative.  For the bit of blue, I used a blue mat, colored the ribbon and some flowers, and Stickles (of course).
My 'new' addition are the pearls.  I won a GC from Miriam's Crafting Supplies and this is one of the many things I was able to get.  =)

The Paper Nest Dolls owner and artist, Christine, is very generously providing us with some blog candy from her online stamp shop and her brick and mortar scrapbooking store! To be eligible to win you must comment on every stop of both days of the hop.

Two $20 Gift Certificates

Prima Flower Prize Pack
